As Maxitech, we attended GoDaddy’s invitation-only launch event with special guest entrepreneur Ayesha Curry. This was GoDaddy’s first entrepreneur-focused summit which will be held annually from now on. It was an impressive and fun event which exceed our expectations. We wanted to share our experience with you.
The event was impressive because;
- It started right on time,
- It was crowded but not overwhelmingly,
- The CEO Aman Bhutani’s speech was short, funny and well-crafted,
- The GoDaddy Executives who revealed the new platform (Marketing + Insights) did a good job on explaining the main features in a short period of time,
- The special guest, Ayasha Curry was fun and inspiring. Stephen Curry’s show up was a cherry on top :)
- There were one-on-one consultations with GoDaddy experts and group working sessions on social media, website creation and search engine presence,
- There were professional photographers for guests to get their headshots and a professional copywriter,
- They even thought about guests’ commute to the venue. Guests were given Lyft codes to get free rides to/from the venue.
New CEO, New Vision
Aman Bhutani started to serve as the CEO of the company just 2 weeks before the event. He talked about GoDaddy’s new vision including offering new tools for small business owners to make their life easy. It was a short speech but an effective one. At the end of his speech, he launched the new platform: Marketing + Insights.
After the CEO’s talk, Head of Apps and Experiences Lauren Antonoff and Senior Director of Product Management Heidi Gobson of GoDaddy took the stage. They explained the new platform and tools that come with it. So, the platform includes many tools from creating a website with beautiful templates to managing email marketing and search engine optimization. It also provides tools for social media where you can read all the comments, respond to them and post updates via the dashboard. It provides also tools for e-commerce where you can manage all your orders.
The “InSight” part of the platform is a smart learning system that provides data and guidance based on your business industry and goals. Moreover, InSight’s algorithms create a custom action plan tailored to your business. So, in a nutshell, GoDaddy’s Marketing + Insights wants to be your only platform that covers all the aspects of your business as a small business owner. The attendees were given a full-year subscription to the platform’s premium version for free.
Right after this session, Gobson had a fireside chat with the special guest Ayasha Curry. Ayasha Curry is a celebrity cook, cookbook author, and TV personality. She has almost 7 Million followers on Instagram which makes her a real influencer. She talked about her passion for cooking and bringing people together through it. She also talked about the non-profit organization namely Eat.Learn.Play. As their website says, Stephen and Ayesha Curry’s Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation is committed to unlocking the amazing potential of every child by fighting to end childhood hunger and ensuring children have access to nutritious food, establishing that students have access to a quality education, and the resources to succeed, and providing opportunities and safe places for all children to play and be active.
Ayasha Curry talked about the team behind the non-profit and she said she couldn’t bring along the whole team. That said, one team member did show up: Stephan Curry! It was an amazing surprise! He talked about the non-profit and its mission. Kudos to Stephan and Ayasha Curry for their effort with kids. So inspiring! If you want to support their cause, you can visit this link.
After the sessions, there were workshops on website creation, personal branding and marketing. Overall, it was an impressive event. It seems like GoDaddy tries to be an innovative company rather than just a service provider. Looking forward to next year’s summit!
